Gujarat Police Recruitment 2024: 12,000 Posts Bharti

The Gujarat state government has approved a significant recruitment drive for the police force, aiming to fill a total of 12,000 vacancies. Among these, 6,600 positions will be designated for unarmed police constables, with an additional 3,302 positions for armed police constables. Key Changes in PSI Recruitment Rules:

1. Examination Format:

• Instead of the previous three-exam structure, the recruitment process will now consist of two stages: Physical Test and Main Examination.

2. Physical Test Evaluation:

• The assessment of the physical test will no longer include marks.
• Candidates must complete the run within the specified time frame to qualify.

3. Weightage Exclusion:

• Weight considerations have been eliminated from the evaluation criteria.

4. Main Examination:

• The main examination will carry a total of 300 marks.
• It will comprise two papers:
  • Paper 1: 200 marks (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Paper 2: 100 marks

5. Additional Marks:

• Candidates holding certifications from esteemed institutions such as the National Defense University and National Forensic Science University will receive extra marks.

Revised Examination Pattern:

Physical Test:

• Candidates are required to pass the physical test within the stipulated time.
• No marks are allotted for the physical test.
• Weightage based on candidates’ physical attributes has been eliminated.

Main Examination:

• The main examination is now the primary evaluation stage, comprising 300 marks.
• Two papers are included:
  • Paper-1: 200 marks (MCQ Based)
  • Paper-2: 100 marks

Sub-Inspector Examination Details

Previously, candidates who cleared the physical test underwent a two-hour, 100-marks Preliminary Test (MCQ format). Successful candidates were then eligible for the Main Examination, which consisted of four papers: Gujarati, English, General Knowledge, and Legal Matters, each carrying 100 marks.

Updated Sub-Inspector Examination:

• The Main Examination now consists of two papers:
  • Paper-1: General Studies (MCQ) – 200 marks
  • Paper-2: Gujarati & English Language Skill (Descriptive) – 100 marks
• Both papers are three hours long.
