The Ministry of Railways is organizing a short-term training program under the Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana at designated Training Centers across India. This program, aimed at youth, falls under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and offers entry-level skill development training in various trades.

The training encompasses a wide array of disciplines including AC Mechanic, Carpenter, CNSS (Communication Network & Surveillance System), Computer Basics, Concreting, Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation, Fitters, Instrument Mechanic (Electrical & Electronics), Machinist, Refrigeration & AC, Technician Mechatronics, Track laying, Welding, Bar Bending, and Basics of IT, S&T in the Indian Railway. Successful completion of the training can lead to employment opportunities or enable candidates to become self-employed.

1. Eligibility:

  • Education: 10th pass
  • Age: Between 18 and 35 years on the date of notification.

2. Selection Method:

  • The percentage of marks obtained in the 10th class will serve as the basis for merit selection.
  • CGPA will be converted into a percentage using the formula provided by CBSE (multiply CGPA with 9.5).

3. Application Process:

  • Applications must be submitted online at the www.railkvy.indianrailways.gov.in website starting from 07.04.2023 (00:00 hrs).
  • Assistance for online submission can be obtained from the respective Training Institute within the prescribed timeframe.
  • Offline applications will not be accepted.
  • Applications should be trade-wise based on candidates’ preferences.

4. Job:

  • Candidates trained under the Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana cannot claim employment on railways based solely on the training.

5. Reservation:

  • There is no reservation policy.

6. Attendance:

  • 75% attendance is compulsory.

7. Duration of Course:

  • 3 weeks (18 Days)

8. Pass Criteria:

  • Written: 55%
  • Practical: 60%

9. Other Details:

  • Training is provided free of cost, but candidates must arrange their own food and lodging.
  • No allowances such as daily allowance, conveyance allowance, or traveling allowance will be provided.
  • Training only occurs during daytime.
  • Candidates must submit a notarized affidavit (with a non-judicial stamp of Rs.10) agreeing to abide by the institute’s rules and safety guidelines and forfeiting any claim to employment.

10. Instructions for Online Submission of Application Form:

  • Candidates must fill in all required information in the online form; no document uploads are necessary.
  • The application window is open from 07.04.2023 (00:00 hrs.) to 20.04.2023 (23:59 hrs.) (14 days).
  • On 21.04.2023 (12:30 PM), a list of shortlisted and waitlisted candidates for each trade will be generated based on merit, with notifications sent via email and SMS.

11. Documents Required After Reporting at the Institute:

  • Photograph and signature.
  • Matriculation mark sheet and certificate.
  • Photo identity proof (e.g., Aadhar card, Bank passbook, Ration card, Pan Card).
  • Affidavit on Rs. 10/- Non-Judicial Stamp Paper.
  • Medical Certificate.

12. Medical Fitness:

  • Candidates must be medically fit, as certified by a registered MBBS doctor, to undergo training.

13. Stipend:

  • The railway administration will not provide any stipend to the trainees.

14. Training Schedule:

  • Training for selected candidates will commence as scheduled by the training institutes.

15. Attendance:

  • Trainees must attend the training regularly as per the schedule of the training institute.

16. Passes:

  • Trainees will not be entitled to any kind of Pass / PTO from the training institute.

17. Liability:

  • Trainees will be liable to compensate for any loss or damage to equipment/fittings caused during the course of training.

18. Employment Status:

  • Trainees will not be considered employees of IR and will not be entitled to compensation for any accidents or casualties.

19. Discipline:

  • Trainees will be under the administrative control and discipline of the training institute during training.

20. Postponement/Cancellation:

  • The institute reserves the right to postpone, prepone, curtail, or cancel the RKVY training at any time.

21. COVID-19 Guidelines:

  • Trainees must adhere to COVID-19 containment rules and guidelines issued by MoHFW / District administration.
